It all starts at home...
My journey towards this project starts with my Dad. My father grew up in Villa, Antigua, and made it his goal to give back to his home, no matter where he went. Nearly every year, my family would go to Antigua to see our relatives, help out where we can, and spend time in the community. My family and heart are in the Caribbean. As the Caribbean faces numerous pressures both within itself and from outside forces, my hope is to become an even greater advocate for the region, become a changemaker, and give back where I can. Within that, I am also American, specifically Black Caribbean American, and have found my community here. Black people within the United States, especially African Americans have faced multiple levels of structural racism & prejudice, causing difficulties in their lives in many different ways. I want to give back as well, to the community that adopted me and that I have been immersed in. I want to change the status quo.
So what is the Revolution?
The “revolution” is not one of violence or physical upheaval towards our institutions. It is one of a change in the status quo for the betterment of people everywhere. The revolution is a cultural and societal movement, one that will only come with increased unity of the people. And thus, Revolution is a brand that hopes to unite & give back with 50% of profits from sales going towards African American and/or Caribbean-based community organizations & causes. The brand falls under Diaspora2Caribbean Innovations, LLC. and looks toward the future, in making the world a better place for Black and Caribbean lives.
Please join us as we take a step into the Revolution.
To the Revolution, unity, & creating change for a positive tomorrow
